Companion visits, made simple.
A companion visit is exactly what it sounds like: time spent in your company. No medical care, no personal care. Just the parts of a day that are nicer when there is someone there with you.
At home
The most common kind of visit. We arrive, the kettle goes on, and the time is yours.
- Sitting and chatting over a cup of tea
- Reading the paper, magazines or books aloud
- Going through old photographs and reminiscing
- Playing cards, board games, or doing the crossword
- Watching the television, a film, or a sporting fixture
- Helping with letters, forms, or paperwork
- Light help around the house: making a cup of tea, washing up, watering plants, getting the post
- Spending time with a pet, including a short dog walk
Out and about
We will drive, we will wait, we will sit with you. Whatever you need to get done, or just somewhere nice you would like to be, is easier with company.
- GP, dentist, hospital, optician or hearing appointments
- The weekly supermarket shop
- A trip into town for a coffee or a wander around the shops
- Visiting friends, family, or a place that means something to you
- Hairdresser, podiatrist, garden centre, library, church
- Anything else, within reason, that you would enjoy more with someone alongside
After a hospital stay
Louise spent her career on orthopaedic wards, and the weeks after a hip, knee or spinal operation are the ones she knows best. We can sit with you in those first days back home, when family is at work and the silence feels very long.
We will make sure you are comfortable, well fed, well watered, and that anything you need is to hand. It is not nursing, but it is exactly the kind of company that helps you mend.
What we do not do
We are companions, not carers. To stay properly within what we are insured for, and within what the law allows for a non-CQC service, there are things we will not do, even if asked. Please do not be offended if we politely decline. We will always help you find the right person for those needs.
Things we cannot offer
- Personal care (washing, dressing, bathing, toileting, anything intimate)
- Administering medication of any kind
- Moving and handling (helping someone in or out of a bed, chair, or bath)
- Overnight stays or sleep-in care
- Anything that would normally be done by a Registered Nurse on duty (wound care, injections, observations)
- Holding cash, cards or PINs on your behalf
- Anything that feels unsafe for you, or for us
From your first call, to your first visit.
A free first chat
Over the phone or around your kitchen table. We will listen, you will ask anything you want to. No cost, no commitment.
A written agreement
What we will do, when we will come, how much it costs, and how to change or cancel a visit. You will get a signed copy.
Your first visit
On the day, we arrive on time, settled and ready. And the time is yours.
Booking and payment
Visits are paid for at the time of booking, by card or bank transfer. That way there is no money to worry about on the day. The visit itself is just about the company.
Sound like what you have been looking for?
The first chat is free and there is no obligation. Tell us a little about who the visits would be for, and we will come back to you within one working day.
